A RAGING bull has killed a woman and forced the closure of an airport in Vietnam.
The 1.5 tonne beast had sought refuge in bushland near the runway of the Phu Bai Airport near Hue.
Authorities say the bull killed an 85-year-old woman on Monday.
The airport was closed on Tuesday for safety reasons.
Tranquiliser guns were used by wildlife experts to shoot it down on Tuesday.
The newspaper Thanh Nien reported the bull lost consciousness and later died.
The airport reopened for business after the capture, reported radio station Voice of Vietnam.
Thanh Nien reported the bull was one of the largest species of wild cattle - a gaur - considered a vulnerable species globally and an endangered species in Vietnam.
